There are two parts to the TIMI GENERIC assessment:
- Generic Core (Part A) - requires 100% pass rate
- Generic General (Part B) - requires 80% pass rate
Successful completion of Parts A and B is required before a TIMI smart card can be issued.
Additionally there is a Part C (Generic Underground) & Part D (Site Specific) assessment.
A result in Part C or D is not necessary to issue a TIMI smart card, but the results will be recorded. TIMI assessments are generally made up of multiple-choice questions.
There can be three (3) attempts at each assessment. Each section is timed, answers cannot be submitted after the time runs out. However, within the allocated time, participants can go back and review their answers. Participants will be given instant feedback once an assessment has been submitted, with the percentage of correct responses being displayed.
If the candidate does not pass all sections within three attempts, they must resit the quiz at another time.
